Thought of the Day #2: What Motivates You: Fear or Love?
Just a thought today...fear is really poor motivator. It may temporarily motivate someone by putting them into a temporary state of unrest or even fight of flight, but it doesn't ring true within the soul as a motivating force over time because we were designed by God for rest and peace within, to be motivated by love.
However, people ARE motivated by love, by what inspires them to be the best version of themselves, as Matthew Kelly would phrase it, and to go out and share that vision with others, to create life in the world. The Bible gives us 365 reminders not to fear because God so desires for us to live in freedom rather than bondage. And that is truly what fear is, a bondage within the soul, it does not come from God. We have a choice today whom we shall serve. I invite you to choose love and peace.
"If it does not please you to serve the Lord, decide today whom you will serve, the gods your fathers served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose country you are dwelling. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
